Where can find out the value of collectable plates, dolls, and figurines? My parents left me hundreds of them.?

I have no where to put them. I would really like to sell them all.

To find the values, you need to either get them appraised (as already mentioned) or identify and price them yourself. Ebay can be a little misleading for pricing because the auction values can change dramatically right up to the final second and buy-now pricing is often inflated or set by someone who is not not an expert. Finding a good dealer website specializing in plates, dolls & figurines would be better for more consistent valuations. You don’t mention the makers or brands of items you have but it is possible that there are available price guides, either online or via bookstores. Certainly the more popular brands will have price guides.

In terms of selling, I am attaching a link to an interesting article about selling your collection. This same website may also have some of the figurines you have.

you can check what they are going for on ebay or there are a lot of china replacement companies which list prices.

In this quantity, you would almost certainly find it worth while to pay someone to come in who can assess the value and sort by value. In paying them, instead of having someone come in who wants to buy them, you should get a fair assessment. The amount of time it would take you to research items you are not familiar with, to photograph, offer, and ship if sold would be absurd.
Contact galleries or antique dealers and ask for names of assessors and talk to the assessors about what you have and what you want and fees. It will help if you have some kind of count even if it is "10 boxes of figurines with 12 in the first box and 15 in the second; 20 boxes of plates with 2 dozen in each of the 3 boxes I checked …"

this is a sculpture site, not an antiquities valuation site. go to your yellow pages, look under antiques dealers. or go on line and look for antique dealers that specialize in china or porcelain or dolls. look for comparables on e-bay. be aware that for written appraisals, you will pay approximately 10% or more of the value for the appraiser fee. Alternatively, you can go to the library and get reference librarian to show you how to find books on these collectible items, or order them from booksellers. Then try to sell the items at flea markets, or on line. You will make a lot less by selling them in "lots" to a dealer – depends if you want to spend the time to sell them yourself.

Also, understand that just because your parents may have paid a lot for something from say The Franklin or somesuch advertisements in magazines, that it is not going to necessarily be worth that on the market. Those places may tell you or advertise that they are making only "x" number of pieces in an edition, but what they don’t tell you is that there may be several more "editions" which makes your piece virtually worthless as there may be thousands and thousands of them sold throughout the world (same goes for the stupid "painter of light’ pictures which are produced by the thousands every day in sweatshops in Asia for pennies and sold to unknowing consumers for hundreds of $$$ – they will never be worth anything)
