How do I keep collectibles from moving around in their display case?

I have a relatively small display case that houses a bunch of figurines in them. But whenever I need to relocate the case (or even when the case gets nudged) the figurines move out of place or fall over. Is there a way to keep them in place, without using chemicals that might damage them or reduce their value? (But still allows people to look at them?)
The Velcro sounds promising, Scrotus, I'm just wondering about the adhesives that the Velcro has in them and how well they will get along to the plastics and all in the figurines...

Check out some stuff called "Museum Wax" … it’s what many museums and collectors (and people in earthquake country) use and works on many surfaces:

It also comes from the same manufacturer as "putty" and "gel" which there are also links for on the page above.
(You can also click on the "Customer Reviews" for each of those to see what others have said about using it.)

If you didn’t want to use something like that, you could always put a piece of that rubberized drawer liner (the same color as your case surface) under all the pieces to keep them at least somewhat stable. Or anything that’s grippy would work a bit too.

I guess you could also attach each to a wide base piece of some kind (disk, rectangle, etc, made from various materials.) to keep them from tipping over easily, and they probably wouldn’t move around as easily either.

    HTH,

    Bear traps.

You could adhere velcro to the bottoms of the figurines OR string thin fishingline in a checkerboard pattern across your display case at about half the average collective height of the figurines.

2 mexicans and a plate of rice might do it.
