I have already tried Google Books but couldn't find any match.
When I was 10 years old-ish, my mom bought me a book which I forget the title. The story was about a girl and a dog. She has an ability to lick her elbows. (lol) Anyways, one day she found a very very tiny dog on the street (I am not sure of it). The dog can talk and the dog says s/he( I am sure of its sex) is bewitched and that’s why s/he is so small. Then I remember she went to her grandma’s or one of her cousins’ and she was so bored there. The cousin was rich and she had all these crystal animal-shaped accessories in a glass cabinet. ….my memory’s not clear enough to remember all the details but there was a cookie jar and there a monster lived. The monster hated the girl and the magic dog, so he turned the dog into a crystal dog-shaped figurine which a lot of glittering gems forms its body parts. The girl was so sad and in some way locks the monster up in the cookie jar! (Oh, now I got it. The monster was NOT a cookie monster.) Do you happen to know this book?

Learning to cut crystal?

I always love all of the cut crystal pieces and when I go to crystal stores they sometimes have someone there cutting the crystal and making it into figurines and stuff, is there any way any ordinary person/artist can learn to do this? Are there classes available to learn? Any info would be appreciated, or if the art form has an official name?

By cut crystal I mean like the things on www.arribas.com and stuff like that. Thanks!

I have 20-25 figurines. there is several smaller sets of matching animals (cats, woodland creatures etc) and several of the figurines ive never seen online, like a large ship on a blue chrystal sea and a train on a wood base. would it be worth more money as a set or seperately? where should i sell it to get the best price?
i have a three month old and i live with my parents and my insane 17 year old sister. She threatened to throw something at me today while i was holding my son, and im extremely worried she'll become violent with me in the future. i need to move out and thats why im selling them, even though i love them and inherited them from my grandma

Ok, so I am very big on simplicity! But I do enjoy to have the sentimental things around me that I love. But I don't want to wind up with one of those homes that make it onto uglyhousephotos.com with every single decorative thing a person owns is out on display somewhere. Giving a home that, dreaded, cluttered tacky look. Yikes!! I stick to basic rules, like not using shelves for storage space. I only keep a couple things on a table. A lamp, and maybe a picture. Nothing else. I keep only my best collectibles in my curio (mainly Swarovski figurines) and keep the cheapo ones stored in a box, or get rid of them. My lamps all match, colors and themes in all the rooms match, etc. What are some other rules of keeping a home simple while still being able to display the things you love? How do I make sure my home keeps that simple elegant look? I need a rules of simplicity guide. Thank you!!
Very good answers so far! And, now I feel a little bit better about the grey and white linoleum and gray carpet my townhouse has. At first I didn't like it, but I realized, I have a lot of sage green. Sage green and grey look excellent together. @ Easy to. lol! That is a very entertaining website though!

Chop Shop

I'm smack in the middle of God's country.
Archaic auto shop, dirt parking lot,
Blip of hell on the radar of heaven.
I'm not exactly a spiritual man
But here the air reaks supernatural.
The place is quaint--like, Norman Rockwell quaint.
My nostrils snap with the smell though the doors.
It feels like real life in another life.
The man at the desk with the overbite,
He says to me: "Be about a half hour."

I sit at the couch, one with splotchy stains.
A blowout here is a pinch in a dream.
On the wood TV, reruns of Gunsmoke.
The coffee is watered down and cold.
Nearly brushing my leg was the angel,
Alien, or sickly hallucination;
Was it the sound of old, or smell of mold?
Anyways, she might have been God, if God
Were 50 with an 80's redneck mullet
And a thin bristly mustache hovering
Over her slimy, jerky eating lips.
She looked like a crusty wax figurine
On display in a forgotten museum.

I'm on the arm of the puke-tan devan,
With the steady sounds of drilling drowning
Her open-faced kisses with turkey meat.
The lights flicker like a high flash picture;
It was some sick ghost documenting this.
I flick my watch--the second hand is stuck.
Everyday appliances fleet with my luck.
The lady turns to me, she says to me:
"Rat bastard went and left me in the dust."
I tried to ignore, but her irises,
They bored into my bored head, reared to bust.
"Excuse me?" I somehow managed to thrust.
Her glass eyes glared. "You can stay with me here,
Or you can git the hell off of my couch."
We sat bathed in the sound of drills and pistols.
My Diablo done, I jumped in, sped out,
I sped off into the forest void
Of any reasonable direction.
Next time I sin remind my soul
God eats jerky in an auto shop

I want to create a custom Swarovski guitar using black and white crystals. I'm going to get either the ESP LTD M-15 or the M10 in white or black and somehow create a black and white design based on a black swan, my favorite animal. (Black and white are my favorite colors).

I had no problem finding a friend who I could pay to put the million-and-a-half crystals on my guitar, but the design itself seems to be proving quite daunting... Where can I find someone who can do the design for such a unique project?

I'm a 14 year old girl who goes to school with a bunch of girls who talk about how they love JB all day but I get made fun of because I love Jesus. I grew up with a father who's a pastor, and a mom who teaches at a catholic school, so that's how I first developed my crush on Christ. People think it's weird that I have Jesus paintings, and figurines in my room but I think he's beautiful. He looks like a painting or a work of art, and he has passion and peace in his eyes. I liked him since I was 6, he's my guardian angel. I don't bother girls for liking Bieber but they tease me for liking Jesus. They say "Ew, how can you have a crush on God? That's weird, you're not suppose to like God". It hurts my feelings because I don't bother them for liking JB!
